The 2024 RCCG Convention, held from August 5th to 11th , once again demonstrated the critical importance of well-coordinated operations. The convention, which brought together millions of worshippers from across the globe, was a remarkable display of faith, unity, and organizational excellence. Particularly noteworthy was the commendable performance of the RCCG National Sanitation Team, who played a pivotal role in maintaining the hygiene standards of Redemption City throughout the event.
The 9th of August, the fifth day of the convention, presented one of the greatest challenges for the sanitation team. Known for its overwhelming attendance, Friday typically sees the highest influx of participants, raising the stakes for effective environmental management. The sanitation team, however, rose to the occasion with unparalleled dedication and efficiency, ensuring that every corner of Redemption City was kept pristine despite the vast numbers.
In a year when rumors of cholera outbreaks in various parts of the nation had caused widespread concern, the significance of their task could not be overstated. Yet, by God’s grace and through meticulous planning, the RCCG National Sanitation Team succeeded in preventing any health crises. No reports of disease outbreaks were recorded, a testament to the thoroughness of their efforts.
The success of the sanitation operations did not go unnoticed. Pastor Tunde Abdullahi, The National Head of Department (HOD) of Sanitation commended the team for their tireless work and unwavering commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for all attendees. This recognition is well-deserved, as the team’s hard work was crucial in allowing the convention to proceed smoothly, free from the fears of health hazards that could have marred the event.
The achievements of the RCCG National Sanitation Team during the 2024 convention serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of operational excellence in large gatherings. On the third day of the RCCG Convention 2024, the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment was brought to the forefront by Pastor Tunde Abdullai, the National Head of Sanitation at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). Known for his unwavering commitment to excellence in service, Pastor Abdullai invited Dr. Simidu Stephen, the Head of the RCCG Environmental Health Services Department, Redemption City, to speak to the national sanitation team.
The enlightening session took place during the national sanitation morning devotion on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024. Dr. Stephen used this platform to express his deep appreciation for the grace of God manifest in the life of Pastor Abdullai. He commended Pastor Abdullai’s dedication to the work of God and his commitment to humanity, highlighting his cooperative spirit and his efforts in promoting environmental hygiene within the Redemption City.
In his address, Dr. Stephen passionately emphasized the vital connection between cleanliness and godliness, urging the sanitation team to fully embrace the responsibility of maintaining a clean environment during and after the convention. “Cleanliness,” he declared, “is indeed next to godliness,” and this principle, he insisted, must guide the efforts of the sanitation team throughout the convention and beyond.
The lecture concluded with a practical demonstration of best practices in sanitation, as Pastor Abdullai and Dr. Stephen led the sanitation team through a hands-on session which lasted throughout the next day Thursday 8th August, 2024 . This practical approach underscored the importance of not only discussing environmental hygiene but actively practicing it within the Redemption City of God.
The session was a testament to the RCCG’s commitment to upholding high standards of environmental health, ensuring that the convention grounds reflect the spiritual purity and excellence that the church strives for.
